Connecting Southeast Asia’s youth through climate education and play.

Southeast Asia is among the most vulnerable regions to climate change.

Yet, climate education remains largely absent from school systems in the region. With rising greenhouse gas emissions and millions already affected, there’s a growing urgency to raise awareness and empower action — starting with the next generation.

Children not only learn faster than adults — they also retain better through game-based learning. That’s why Envitopia was born: to bring climate education into the heart of schools through fun and interactive tools.

Our Story

It is all started under the Big Montana Sky.

Envitopia is a youth-led initiative founded by passionate changemakers from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Myanmar, who met through the YSEALI Academic Fellowship for Environment (Fall 2023) at the University of Montana, USA.

United by a shared concern for climate issues in Southeast Asia, we envisioned a world where children grow up understanding their carbon footprint and how to act on it.

We simplify climate topics like greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability using gamified learning tools — mainly our educational board game, tailored for students aged 9–15.

We collaborate with schools, educators, and communities in the urban area to implement the board game and create a fun yet comprehensive workshop with the students.

We aim to connect and raise the awareness of urban students aged between 9–15 about the concept of the carbon footprint at urban schools in Southeast Asia through educational board games.
