Yogyakarta Workshop: Envitopia in SD Negeri Clumprit, Sleman

Sleman, Yogyakarta – On July 21, 2025, Envitopia hosted its first playful workshop at SD Negeri Clumprit in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The half-day event engaged both students and teachers in hands-on activities aimed at raising awareness about climate change, environmental issues, and carbon footprints.

The workshop began with an interactive session led by Envitopia volunteers, who introduced the causes and effects of climate change. The students eagerly participated, asking insightful and thoughtful questions to deepen their understanding of the issue.

Next, the Envitopia Board Game was introduced as a fun and engaging way to explore the concept of carbon footprints. The students were divided into groups to play the game, facing challenges and completing multiple rounds to develop their intuition about carbon footprints. The session concluded with the announcement of the game winner, followed by a small celebration.

As a token of appreciation, Envitopia donated a board game corner to the school library, which included several sets of the board game and an illustrative storybook on climate change and environmental education. Both the teachers and students welcomed the new learning tools with enthusiasm and expressed interest in using them for future sessions with other student groups.
